Phase 1: June 8 - Library employees will return to work in the building in a reduced capacity. Only staff will be permitted into the building.
Phase 2: June 15 – We will begin lending materials to Nassau County residents with a valid library card only via curbside pickup. Only staff will be permitted into the building.
Phase 3: July 15 - Modified opening of the building with “Grab and Go” for patrons. Limited number of patrons in building to select and checkout items. Masks are manditory and must be worn at all times. Social distancing in place. Computer usage is limited to one 30 minute time slot per day. Significant modifications of facilities may be implemented such as the installation of sneeze guards, restrictions on public access, building use, etc. Returns must be made at the book drops. All book drops will be open.
Phase 4: Date to be determined - Open to a limited number of public patrons with social distancing in place; some modification of facilities and no public events or gatherings.
Each of these phases will depend on the status of the area metrics and the ability for us to safely offer services in the library. The Board will continue to monitor the directives/orders of the Federal, State, and Local Governments and make further determinations pursuant to same.
All materials will be quarantined for 96 hours before being cleared and may not come off your record right away. All late fines are being waived.
