Jelly Bean Contest Winner

We had a Jelly Bean Guessing Game Contest at the Library Booth at Hicksville Street Fair on Sunday, July 16th. The winners have been announced!

Supplies for Schools Drive

The Library is a drop-off site for the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless Supply Our Students Drive. We will be collecting school supplies from now through August 4th. Items needed for this drive are:

Newsletter Correction

There was an error in the Computer Class Registration dates in the July/August Newsletter. The correct registration information is as follows:

Registration for July computer classes begins on Monday, July 3 at 9:00 a.m. Registration for August computer classes begins on Monday, July 31 at 9:00 a.m. Registration will be held at the Reference Desk in the main library and classes will be held at the Computer & Resource Center. 

New Book Drop

Check out our brand new book drop located in the parking lot. For your convenience, in addition to books, you may now return DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs without getting out of your car.

Program Cancellation

Tai Chi has been cancelled on June 5th and June 12th. Registrants will be notified of make-up class dates.

The Meditation class on June 12th has been cancelled. Information on new class dates will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Notary Hours

The hours for the notary public have recently changed. The hours are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Please call 931-1417 to check the notary availabilty prior to coming in. The fee for each notary signature is $2.00 (no credit cards).

Local History

2015 is the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. In tribute to that generation of Americans who fought in that terrible struggle and saved the world, the Hicksville Archives at the Hicksville Library will, over the next several months, tell of those from Hicksville who did not come home. They were your neighbors.
