Library Trustee Election Scheduled on June 9

The Library Trustee Election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2020, and voting will be by absentee ballot only. 

The Board of Trustees has made the decision to adopt last year's budgeted appropriation about with no increase to the library budget this year. Therefore, there will be no budget hearing or budget vote. 

E-Notary Services Now Available

E-Notarizations are available by appointment only, through email to ddelouise@hicksvillelibrary.org. In order to use this service, you must have access to and knowledge of video conferencing software and the ability to scan your documents. Library 3D Printer Being Used to Make PPE

Long Island libraries are doing their part in helping the community by using 3D printers to create personal protection equipment (PPE) like Face Shields for our first responders and staff at hospitals. The Hicksville Library has lent out one of our 3D printers to the Suffolk County Library System to assist in their efforts while our computer technician is using our second printer and helping to print face shields from home. This photo shows the face shields that were donated to these brave healthcare workers at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Latest Statement Regarding Library Closure

To assist in preventative measures of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Hicksville Library will be closed from Monday, March 16th until further notice in accordance with NYS guidelines.. All Library programming through Tuesday, May31st has been either cancelled or postponed. Museum passes are suspended until further notice. These dates are subject to change. Please check our website, Facebook page, or phone message prior to visiting the Library.

Statement Regarding the Coronavirus

The Library is carefully monitoring the rapidly evolving situation involving the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Our first priority is ensuring the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and community. Therefore, we are taking precautionary measures to be diligent in taking steps to thoroughly clean and maintain the building. High traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, tables, and other hard surfaces will be cleaned throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is available for public use.
