Homebound delivery service is available to any Hicksville resident who holds a current library card and is unable to visit the library due to a temporary or permanent physical disability or is confined to their home due to a prolonged illness or advanced age and do not have a household member to pick up and return library materials. Homebound patrons must be Hicksville residents and hold a library card. If their card is expired, they need to renew it.
Only physical books and CD Books can be delivered. No books on our new book shelf are eligible for homebound delivery.
A maximum of 10 books per delivery.
Deliveries and pickups are scheduled on the same day.
Patrons have 28 days to return items, but if they are late, they aren't fined as long as the item is returned.
When applying for homebound status, a form needs to be completed. The information can be taken over the phone.
