Stop by our National Library Week table for the latest information about library services and what we have to offer. Below are some of the fun events you can participate in during National Library Week.
Guessing Jars - Guess how many items are in the jars located at the National Library Week table and in the Children's Room. The person who gets the closest guess for each jar will win a prize.
Library Quiz - How well do you know library-related trivia? Test your knowledge with our quiz!
Photo Spot - Capture the moment and pose for your own photos at our "photo booth".
Series Soiree - Write a poem, song, short essay, or review of your favorite book or TV series and tag us on social media. You will receive an entry for our grand prize for each of your submissions.
Raffles - Get into the spirit of Library Week! Tag us on Facebook, Instagram, or Tik Tok with photos of your participation in any of our National Library Spirit Week events and you will receive an entry for our grand prize raffle of a Kindle. The winner will be drawn at random. Prizes are open to Hicksville Library cardholders.
Scavenger Hunt - Open to all ages. The scavenger hunt must be returned by Monday, April 11th either by email to racosta@hicksvillelibrary.org or in person to the Reference Desk. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be given an entry into our grand prize raffle of a Kindle. Print your own copy here or pick it up in person at the National Library Week table.
Scavenger Hunt (Children's) - Take part in our monthly Scavenger Hunt in the Children's Room. Complete the Scavenger Hunt and choose a prize from our treasure chest.
Story Path - Beginning Tuesday, April 5th, bring the kids to read a picture book while on a walking path throughout the Children's Room.

Sunday, April 3: Shelfie Sunday
Show off your collection of books, dvds, music, etc. with a "shelfie" and tag us on Facebook, Instagram, or Tik Tok!
Monday, April 4: Mindful Monday
Journal kits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Tuesday, April 5: Team Tuesday
Dress up in your favorite sports gear!
Wednesday, April 6: Wacky Wednesday
Wear your wackiest outfit and visit the library for Wacky Wednesday!
Thursday, April 7: Throwback Thursday
Dress up in clothes from your favorite era! Share throwback photos with us on social media.
Friday, April 8: Family Friday
Libraries are places where families connect. Bring the family to take part in our Story Path and let's celebrate libraries!
Saturday, April 9: Say-It Saturday
Visit the library during the week and leave us a note telling us how the library has impacted you! We'll feature some of your notes on social media during Say-It Saturday.
